Sports Massage
Sports massage enables professional and everyday athletes to attain their highest potential by enhancing their performance ability, reducing incidence of injury, and providing overall wellbeing. In cases where injury or strain has occurred, massage helps to restore mobility and flexibility to injured muscle tissue while reducing recovery time. Along with compression and deep tissue techniques, sports massage also utilizes stretching and range of motion to help prevent injury and increase flexibility.

Bamboo-fusion, developed by Nathalie Cecilia, is being used by spa and therapy centers all over the world. Sustainable bamboo in varying lengths and sizes are warmed and applied with therapeutic tropical oils on the client in soothing, rhythmic stokes. Due to the heat and and the flowing rhythm, the massage is quite deep and therapeutic, while also being very relaxing. Tight fascia, or connective tissue, is the cause of many strains and problems in the body and the bamboo spreads these fascial restrictions and releases muscle tension. You will experience a lengthened and rejuvenated feeling after your bamboo-fusion session. This treatment can be wonderful for the large, muscular athlete (marathoners, tennis players, weight lifters are reporting amazing relief) or the petite senior as it caters to your personal needs.

Traditional Thai Massage
The practice of Thai massage can be traced back to Thailand more that 2,500 years ago. It is performed on a mat on the floor with the client wearing light, loosely fitted clothing. A thai proverb states that "You start aging when you start losing your flexibility in your body and mind". This type of massage is perfect in opening up the body, de-stressing and feeling more flexible. Thai massage uses gentle rocking, deep stretching, and rhythmic compression along pressure points and energy lines on the body to create a healing experience. The therapy is slow, gentle, non-invasive and suitable for all body types and ages. You'll leave feeling stretched, relaxed and energized.

Swedish Massage Therapy
Swedish massage is the backbone of all Western massage therapies. A variety of massage strokes are used to to flush toxins from the muscles, increase venous blood flow back to the heart, increase circulation, open up tight tissues, and create a great sense of well-being. Swedish massage is very relaxing and therapeutic and not as deep as sports massage. Our therapists will cater to your personal needs and create a soothing, stress relieving session so that your leave the White Heron feeling like a new you.

Reflexology, sometimes called zone therapy, is the method of applying pressure to the feet, the hands, and the ears in order to affect positive change in the health of various areas and organs of the body.  In theory, reflexology may break up patterns of stress in other areas of the body through the thousands of nerves in the feet. Many people find reflexology beneficial for relieving stress, improving circulation, and promoting homeostasis or balance in the body.

Couples Massage
Our superior therapists trained in a variety of modalities can be available for scheduling a therapeutic massage together. This is perfect for Valentines's Day or an Anniversary! You have the option of being together in the same candle-lit room or the privacy of different therapy rooms. A great combination is to have a far infrared sauna together for a half hour and then receive your massage sessions. No need for a special occasion, maybe just that you have a sitter that evening and you plan a heathy, fun, relaxing date together at the White Heron.
